Three players that simply demolished Monaco in that game were Cavani (two-time scorer), Di Maria (scored the second goal), and Mbappe, who made two assists. The same three players are expected to be in the spotlight on Sunday as well, as they’re currently the best this team has.
Another reason why PSG are expected to win on Sunday is that this team has been sensational at their stadium, especially in Ligue 1 matches. Actually, they have won every single match in Ligue 1 this season. Furthermore, the last time they lost a league game at home was in early March 2016!
But, the team they lost to was Monaco, who are hoping to achieve a similar feat on Sunday.
Monaco
Monaco are currently in the second place on the table of Ligue 1. They will have to work hard to stay there, considering that both Lyon and Olympique Marseille (who are on the third and fourth position, respectively) have four points less than them.
Winning at least one point on Sunday could mean a lot to this team. What gives them hope that they can actually achieve that is that they’ve been playing well in away matches in the last couple of weeks. Although they did lose to PSG on the last day of March, they beat several teams in away matches this year – Nice (cup), Strasbourg, Angers. They also played draw with Rennes, Marseilles, and a few other teams.
No one can say that Monaco don’t have a powerful team, but betting on them against PSG would not be a wise choice in my opinion. Still, I do think that Monaco could score at least once on Sunday. They have so much talent in the final third, with Falcao, Rony Lopes, Lemar, Balde, and many others playing great this whole season.
